TAI provided engineering design, specifications and construction review services for an extension to an existing compressor building.
TAI designed a foundation slab and retaining wall for a new 28’ x 18’ pre-fabricated steel building extension. The building foundation consisted of a reinforced concrete slab-on-grade with turned down edges. A four-foot tall retaining wall was required to support an earthen embankment.
Details include the following:
- Project was one of many on-site structural designs provided for this client
- Slab-on-grade building foundation was designed robust enough to support a new compressor skid
- Retaining wall provided support for one of the building’s walls as well as retaining an earthen embankment with truck traffic beyond
- Structural retaining wall and architectural elements had to match an adjacent building.
- This power generation facility had a wind speed of 150 mph for all structural designs.
