The Client is a historic home and farm complex at Crofton, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA. It consists of a 19th-century frame dwelling (part of which may be 18th century), a mid-19th century meat house, a frame pre-1815 tobacco barn and a family cemetery dating to the mid-19th century. The tobacco house is one of only three pre-1815 tobacco houses surviving in the county and the complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Project Details

The Client needed a comprehensive report to be used as a guideline to prioritize maintenance schedules for future repairs and renovation for the main dwelling – guided by a historical analysis of the building.

TAI assessed the condition of the existing mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems to build the report and identified deficient systems to be brought up to code. TAI also provided a cost estimate for each of the items and prioritized their importance into three categories. The conditions assessment established priorities for recommended work at the facility for a duration of 20 years.
