Project Details

The Client wanted to improve electrical service component at their River Walk Plant in Philadelphia, PA. The goal of this project was to complete significant improvements to the low voltage switchgear, motor control centers, and standby generation at the plant. Additionally, structural equipment support additions, mechanical HVAC modifications and provision of related Delta V control system modifications are required.

TAI provided electrical detailed engineering and a TIC (Total Installed Cost) construction estimate to support the following construction descriptions:

Electrical – Site Survey was performed to obtain detailed data concerning existing equipment, which included but not limited to: MV transformers, MV switchgear, LV MCC, LV Transformers and panelboards, gas engine and associated auxiliary equipment. Also, a survey of the existing MV feeder connection to the River Walk Pump Station was performed.

Engineering – Performed an impact study to evaluate short circuit contribution from the new generator on the existing electrical distribution system, reviewed existing plant generators and interlocks, performed load study to establish sizing parameters for MV and LV equipment, and specifications for size & development for MV transformers, MV switches, MV Switchgears, MV generator, load bank, transfer equipment, fuel tank, fuel port, fuel management system, LV MCC, battery for switchgear, and new lighting at RWP station.
