TAI is providing turnkey services and design-build solution for the replacement of outdated PLC equipment throughout the Client’s facility.
TAI is implementing a plant-wide control system upgrade project at the Client’s facility in Baltimore, Maryland, to replace the outdated Allen-Bradley PLC-5 and SLC-500 equipment (29 PLC panels) located throughout the facility with new ControlLogix and CompactLogix equivalents.
A new robust redundant fiber network is being installed that supports the parallel redundancy protocol utilized for the reliable control system network that TAI designed. The project requires a control infrastructure upgrade (replacing blue hose with fiber) involving the implementation of a new fiber/Ethernet communication network between the various new PLC cabinets and the existing HMI/SCADA network. New network cabinets, new PLC cabinets, new backpanels, and new components are being installed. TAI is engineering the complete control system upgrade, including the new network design, all detailed PLC panel designs, and new conduit, cable and equipment installation details. TAI is also providing the complete construction, commissioning and startup for the project. Project estimated to be completed by 2023.
