The Client developed the initial project definition documents, justification and project costing to submit for funding. The project was to develop a process installation to include manufacture of a new polymer utilizing flammable and combustible raw materials. The project included the addition of a mix tank, two shot tanks and associated piping, equipment and controls to provide polymer production capabilities in the C303 reactor.
TAI provided project management, engineering, design and drawing package development – suitable for bidding and construction. The major components of the expansion included:
- Package unit for handling;
- Mixing and transferring flammable liquids and solids;
- Two 200 gallon shot tanks; and
- Instrumentation and controls for metering.
Additionally, TAI provided process, structural, instrumentation and controls engineering to support the development of construction documents for this project. The deliverables included the following documents for construction:
- P&IDs
- Equipment General Arrangements
- Piping Plan, Elevation and Section Drawings
- Structural Support Pad Plans & Elevations
- Instrument and Grounding Plans
- Conduit and Wiring Diagrams
- Loop Drawings
- Tank Heat Blanket Specification and Controls
- Electrical Details
