Many industrial
facilities are subject either to government regulations mandating
Mechanical Integrity Programs of industry codes and standards
that require diligent attention to the reliability of equipment
and facilities. In complex facilities where multiple layers
of protections are used, the reliability of instrumentation
and control equipment is paramount to continued safe operation.
This has created the need for quality personnel who are trained
to maintain instrumentation that operates within original
design specifications.
TAI
has responded to this need by developing a staff of fully
trained technicians to provide ongoing preventive maintenance
and troubleshooting services for our clients. TAI Instrument
Technicians has achieved ISA Certified Control System Technician
(CCST) status.
Our staff is skilled and experienced in providing the following
types of services for complex instrumentation systems.
- Troubleshooting
and Analysis - TAI Technicians will assess
the malfunction of a device by consulting the manufacturer's
manuals and technical personnel prior to instrument removal.
If applicable, the Technician will perform diagnostic testing
on instruments using hand-held transmitter (HHT) communications
of PC software applications.
- Calibration
- TAI Instrument Technicians will calibrate instruments
to specifications using manufacturer's recommended procedures
and traceable standards, including documentation of results
verify that required accuracy has been achieved. Our Technicians
will set up calibration equipment and document "as-found"
and "as-left" instrument data. For both bench
and field calibrations TAI will return the instrument to
service with the proper documentation and in accordance
with site procedures.
- Outage
Maintenance and Supplemental Labor - TAI
Technicians are trained and prepared to assist busy industrial
facilities in meeting their technical labor requirements
during busy periods of excess work requirements, such as
outages and start-ups. Our experienced, capable and professional
technicians are truly qualified to step in and assist clients
who need to supplement the internal work force for any length
of time.
- Mechanical
Integrity Services - TAI Instrument Technicians
provide ongoing inspection, testing and preventive maintenance
services per the requirements of our clients' mechanical
integrity program schedules. Services can be tailored to
a client's specific needs and provided on a flexible basis,
including full time, weekly, monthly or annually.
TAI Technicians are experienced in various industrial environments
and have been trained for hazardous area work, including the
proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety
and environmental procedures (including energy isolation,
hot work and confined space permitting, and line-breaking).
Our Technicians work closely with TAI Control Engineers to
provide quality services throughout all phases of control
system projects, including design, hardware/software specification,
architecture design, functional specification, implementation
and start-up, and documentation.
