In-Line Blending
Client: Distilled Spirits Production Facility
The purpose of this project was to install a new product storage and processing system at the plant. The full scope of work included fabricating a new 100,000 gallon tank on-site, building the tank foundation and containment structure, installing tank ancillary equipment and rail car receiving capability, and constructing a new in-line blending / chilling / filtering system. Operations associated with the new installation were fully automated. This continuous in-line blending system represented a paradigm shift for the plant, as previous operations were performed in a batch mode.
TAI supported the client on this project from concept to start-up. Services provided included initial project scoping/feasibility study, preliminary engineering/cost estimating, and detailed engineering. This project was performed on a design-build basis, and TAI was also responsible for installation, commissioning, and start-up of the new system.
Project Notes:
- First fully automated, continuous system in NA for client
- Flammable liquid / process safety considerations
- Full EPC services through start-up
- Continuing maintenance and calibration support
