TAI
completed the structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation
& controls portions of a Dries Product Bulk handling and
multi-packaging line packaging system.
For
the 5 story building addition, a new MCC was provided to power
approximately 75 loads, as well, as control power to all control
devices for the system. TAI generated all electrical and instrumentation
bid drawings for the $250K electrical construction project.
An Allen-Bradley SLC-5/05 processor was utilized to perform
control functions required of the system with over 500 distributed
I/O points. Allen-Bradley RSView32 was selected as the operator
interface software, which resides on each of three networked
operator workstations, communicating via Ethernet with the
PLC processor. Full functioning graphic displays included
operator control screens, recipe management, batching, trending,
batch reporting and data logging features. TAI also designed
the control systems and performed PLC and HMI development
for associated downstream packaging equipment, and linked
the various packaging equipment PLCs with the main system
PLC into a complete integrated control system. TAI performed
complete system and equipment commissioning including I/O
checkout, loop checking, instrument calibration, and system/subsystem
startup. TAI presently provides on-call maintenance and support
services for this and other systems at the facility.
