completed the Instrumentation & Controls Design, programming
developement, I/O checkout, system startup, and validation
documentation support services for a new pharmaceutical process.

TAI completed equipment and instrumentation specification
for the project, developing approximately 300 instrument data
sheets for instrument purchase. TAI completed panel design
for 13 PLC, HMI, and pneumatic control panels and managed
the bidding, awarding, and construction processes with the
selected panel shop. TAI developed all necessary drawings
for the effective installation by the electrical contractor,
and developed P&ID and mechanical piping drawings to aid
in mechanical installation as well.
TAI developed the PLC code, and configured all HMI operator
interface graphics. TAI managed the electrical construction
effort, and conducted the I/O checkout and commissioning phases
of the project. TAI assisted plant operating personnel in
the startup of the new control system. The PLC control system
of approximately 400 I/O points is an Allen-Bradley PLC-5/40E.
The system interfaces with Remote I/O racks, smart solenoid
valve manifolds, and scale control units over a remote I/O
network totaling 18 remote I/O drops. An Ethernet switch provides
for a dedicated Ethernet that integrates the PLC processor
with one HMI Scada workstation running Wonderware 8.0 software
and eight PanelView Plus operator interface terminals located
on the plant floor. The network is integrated via Ethernet
to the plant-wide PLC control system network.
TAI developed various validation related documents for the
project, including: Hardware Design Specification, Software
Design Specification, Functional Requirement Specification,
and Factory Acceptance Test.
